dc.description.abstract The Press Council Act was passed in 1974. Laws relating to press in Bangladesh by Ghazi 'Shamsur Rahman. The main objective behind the constitution of the Press Council was to maintain freedom of the Press and to improve its standard. With this end in view the Press Council Was constituted in 1979. It should be clearly understood that the laws of the country delineate the frontier within which freedom should be exercised and standard improved. en_US
